Environmental
Vision in the
Energy Sector
Award honours
the endeavours
and achievements
of the Oil & Gas
industry. The
award recognises
any
environmental
initiative made
by companies in
this sector.
Initiatives
worthy of the
award include
utilization of
energy efficient
equipment and
systems,
implementation
of processes
that lead to
more efficient
use of
resources, new
technologies in
renewable energy
production,
conservation of
marine life and
the development
of sustainable
business
practices.

Sector
Open to any
school, college
or educational
institution
where teachers,
pupils, parents
and other
stakeholders
take part in a
structured
programme to
ensure the
school takes a
lead in
protecting the
environment for
future
generations.
Environmental Vision
In Media
Media houses
that have shown
sustained
interest and
given prominent
coverage to
environmental
issues are
invited to
nominate case
studies on their
stories on the
environment.
Environmental
Leadership
This award will
go to an
individual who
has made a
significant
contribution to
the tackling of
climate change
or improving the
environment in
Qatar. Entrants
can nominate
themselves.
Organizations or
members of the
public can also
nominate
individuals,
provided that
the nominated
individual has
no objections to
being nominated
for the award.
Green Retailer
Open to
supermarket
chains, local
food or
specialist
outlets. Any
retailer who can
demonstrate how
they are
tackling
environmental
issues in the
way they deliver
their service to
consumers are
invited to
nominate their
case studies.
Green Product or
Service
Open to any
environmentally
friendly product
or service
launched by an
organization
during the year
2009.
Green Organization
Organizations
who can
demonstrate a
commitment to
organizational
sustainability
and towards
creating a green
workplace are
eligible to
enter this
award.
Best Public
Awareness Campaign
The Best Public
Awareness
Campaign award
rewards
environmental
awareness
campaigns
carried out by
companies,
government
offices,
non-governmental
bodies and
advertising
agencies. This
could include
any event that
highlights an
environmental
issue, producing
media stories
that cover
environmental
issues in a
positive way,
and developing
books, movies,
websites and
other
educational
innovations
which contribute
to a deeper
understanding of
conservation and
environmental
issues. The
award will be
based on the
diversity and
extent of the
target audience.
Green Roof & Green
Building Design
The Green Roof
and Green
Building Design
Award
acknowledges the
efforts of a
company working
with real
estate,
architecture or
construction.
The recipient of
the award could
have developed
and implemented
an environmental
design solution,
introduced
methods that
promote the well
being of
occupants or
man-made
improvements
such as re-naturalising
parks, green
technologies,
and developing a
roof with ground
for gardening.
